Great value if you don't want to build one, yes. However, my parents have had bad experiences with HP, so make sure you look at their guarantee and reviews from people who have used it.

HP is great, i have two (one laptop and one desktop) and then my dell and i love the hp just as much as dell. but no monitor? 1099... is a bit steep for no monitor i say buy parts and build yourself for that price
