But I think Microsoft has been aware of that.

most of the world speaks some form of english. every country should print english copies for travelling people.

the usa is too stubborn to adopt the metric system like the rest of the world. we should all abandon it because they have their hands in so many people's cookie jars.

look at IE arguments objectively people. if they want sites to work properly, they should get equipment that can read them properly. otherwise, i say let them guess what the french menu says.

I'm starting to have less problems with IE. IE8 that is.... Someone really needs to write a virus that removes ie6 and automatically installs ie8 or FF. Who's up for the job?

We could call it "Dude, where's my IE6?".

A better way to educate the surfer about not using IE6 : Suggest the to upgrade his browser right from your website itself.
ie6nomore.com has couple of ready javascripts and code that automatically detects the browser and Browser Upgrade suggestion box pops up.

I have no Problem with IE7 and IE8 , but being a web designer I hate IE6

IE8 is pretty nice to use but I really don't get why opening a tab takes so much longer than in FF.

I recently redesigned my blog, and I dropped support for Internet Explorer, by using some CSS3 stuff. The content seems to still be readable, so it should be fine anyway. Also, less that 5% of visitors to my site use IE.

The reason I didn't try to make it look perfect in IE is because it takes extra time for me, because I use Linux, so I test my site with Firefox, Opera and Midori first.

It have so big percent because majority of us, use IE at least once or two per year for downloading other browsers. Also it used involuntary by web designers for testing web's page functionality.

Depends on your target audience. If they're more technically inclined, browser usage will be skewed towards Firefox or Chrome.
