Old  Turn down Xbox 360 Volume?

I plugged in my 360 into some computer speakers and the volume control on the speakers doesn't seem to work with the 360 at all... Is there a way to turn down the volume in the dashboard?

I'm pretty sure that's the volume of the headset.

I think you're right Dave, I didn't see anything about the volume there. Anybody else know?

I'm going to assume you are using the adaptor kit that gives you a VGA output and the other adaptor that turns the audio outputs into a 3.5mm audio jack...

When I did that, I controlled my volume from the speakers. Are you getting any sound from them?

You assumed correctly. I've tried plugging them into the sub (which is also the amp I believe) and I plugged them in directly into the speakers. When I plug it into the sub its way to loud, however when I plug them into the speakers I don't get any sound.

Do your speakers have an audio input? Or is the thing you are plugging them into an output (hence the no sound)?

Well the speakers plug into the sub, along with the power cord and the input. For some reason I figured the sound coming out of the xbox was already amplified (which is why its so loud) so maybe it would be enough to power the speakers but that didn't work.

Figured it out . I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to a 19" Gateway widescreen HD flat panel monitor (basically a widescreen computer monitor) on a desk right next to my MBP. I'm running the Xbox audio through the Line-In on the MBP and using the application LineIn that lets me play the audio through my external speakers while they're hooked up to my MBP. So instead of switching cables, I just turn off/on the application LineIn to have the sound come from either my MBP or 360. Perfect setup IMO, minus the fact that the 360 is SO LOUD.
