Talk to us on IRC!
Hi everyone,
We're trialling running an IRC community, so we've set up a channel on quakenet.org.
Please join us on #talkfreelance on irc.quakenet.org!

I'll pop my head in (tell a lie, I'm already there) to say hello. Any reason why that server was chosen? Freenode or Efnet would've been my choices over QuakeNet (not that it really matters).
Come say hello, don't be shy. :-)

Something went wrong with Freenode: it kicked out Immersion who had registered the channel so we couldn't get op access (or something like that anyway). If it gets somewhat used we'll host it on the tfl.com server.
Regarding efnet, I'm not sure.

I have not used IRC in forever. Meebo never supported it, I don't want another tab, or more software so I'll probably only pop in every now and then.

The reason for quakenet was for the free bot service in the end. Freenode decided that when i join again i wouldn't be made op again too. So it was pretty useless. I remember having this problem before years ago. Then again, it doesn't really matter what server we are on, does it?

No it doesn't matter which server the channel is on at all, though I've never had problems with Freenode or any other the others that I use and have (in the distant past, so it wouldn't be fair to reflect that upon today) with QuakeNet.
I've been idling in there a bit today, there has been some chatter but we really, really could do with more folks. So, come on and join in!

Nobody ever talks. It's so quiet in there.
