Overlooked this thread but thought I'd comment quickly. Dan's logo is my favourite but as an actual logo I don't think it'd work well at all. It's just too illegible, specifically the L and K, it could be down to them being joined together. I don't think the letter sizes are proportionate to each other either, the bottom of the L needs to be wider.
