Yes, 4designs.tv made the skin we have now. Off of that alone I would advise not going with 4designs.

Ha. Thanks for the kind words, Fez.
Nobody is better than the guy you're wanting to wait for.

Confidence is key. I believe TF is lucky to have such a creative pool of designers at it's disposal, and would be a douchbag move to write them off.
A group collaboration would be a fun project.

I think Art wants something totally new this time around. New style, new feel, new mood, new designer.
@Dan, a group collaboration project would be awesome!

(:
The problem with the above four designs and the current.. well, where to begin.
They're dated. It appears the designers were primarily designing for vbulletin and not TF, which is a major concern.
Looking over this showthread page as I type it would be easier to describe the good points, with so much jibberish scattered across the page that none ever uses or wants, see it's not just the design, functionality is flawed as well - I'm typing this in the quick reply and I get 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. 6 lines before this fixated piece of crap textarea scrolls with no option to expand, forcing me to click "goadvanced" for a completely pointless reload. Okay I'm derailing.
Design. Honestly, hire a $100 an hour designer and it'll still turn out crappy if they're poorly instructed. I haven't seen the wireframe or brief, so can only put it down to designing for the standard vBulletin look.
@Apple, worth a try. Curious to see if any other designers would be interested?

I agree. I think the goal of the current design was to think outside of the box, but that was taken a little too literally.
@Dan, I don't really personally know a few personal designers....I've got maybe one quality designer who comes to mind.

Don't hire anyone within this thread if you want an exceptional skin (bar http://www.emblematiq.com - 4design.tv do nice work but don't do it for me). Some of the names mentioned could produce a nice skin but if Artashes really wants a skin that's a step above the rest (which I believe he does) he needs to look elsewhere at proven people who have produced stunning work project after project.

As you have offended a few people here with your words, I wonder if there is any basis for you to say that, other than just plain wanting to insult the members on TFL.

Artashes, I think you should just wait for Lucian. You're not going to get a designer like him overnight. His portfolio explains it all.
