You could list a few days into the New Year, enough time for people to recover from any NY celebrations they will have had, and enough time for new years resolutions (to buy new sites from SP?!)
Or as you said wait until Spring time, when people will have got over the expense of Christmas.
What is it you are planning to list? A domain? a site? or an e-commerce site - judging by the forum area this thread is in

Normal website really - how about times? The best general time to post up? It'd say cater towards US times, so something like 10:00PM GMT would be good. Any educated tips on that?

Yes I would agree with that, I guess if your listing is going to be up for a while the time its listed doesn't matter a great deal. However if its an auction thats going to run until the end - the end time will be very important.

I would think that on SitePoint, the start time would be more important as that is the time that people will see it on the front-page, and shortlist it. If you don't have a good start time, then there's no point really.

I would say best days are Monday/Tuesday and possible Wednesday, at around 9pm.

I've been selling regularly on Sitepoint for over a year.
A lot of buyers are foreign (to me) so i get most luck posting right before i go to bed and usually i'll wake up and its bought. Whats overnight to me is when they are usually awake looking a the marketplace. If i do it during the day then it gets buried more.
My timezone is US EST.
I have luck during the end or beginning of the week the most.
