Things you can do to prevent your domains from getting stolen:

1 - Do business only with registrars who send emails for ANY account change.
2 - Be sure the administrator and registration email addresses for your domains are ALWAYS current.
3 - Register domains with only one company leaving little confusion of where your domains may be.
4 - Periodically check your domain accounts for changes.
5 - Always keep your domain names in a locked status.
6 - Look carefully at all links in emails and take note of EXACTLY where these URL's go.

Village Genius will become famous soon enough

  Old

6 is the only one that is needed to prevent these, this works the same as any bank or paypal phishing method. Locking your domain wont help because they can unlock it when they have your password
