If I'm selling a script/design/whatever and I want to sell it unique, I'll hit a switch when making the listing and do just that, otherwise the option of selling your work in mass is very beneficial.

- It gives sellers the opportunity to continuely sell their work. (new revenue stream)
- Opens the door to a new market of buyers.
- Its easily a vast improvement to the marketplace, and I see no other marketplace like it?

Again, the system wouldn't be mandatory.
I revised my post while you were writing this, it did not list you as on the thread.

I see the logic behind this now, I think its a good idea.

Jordan, I've brought this up a couple times however we haven't yet worked out whats causing it. Any suggestions?

For now we could run a redirect to remove the subdomain part, but this is undeed strain on each load.

Has the mail. been there since Zee owned TF? If so its probably a DNS issue, otherwise something technical with the server, or maybe upgrading vB caused it. No idea.

Just change (remove) the DNS record (in Namecheap) for mail.talkfreelance.com and it'll go away.

Just curious, but was the budget templates area merged with the premium templates area?

You all are being stupid fools. This is why I wanted to buy TFL a long time ago.

This is not targeted for webmasters, it's a freelancing community. That's what it was and should be intended for. Webmasters come naturally to the niche.

Sell it to me and I'll do all the SEO and turn this place around.

Calling everyone here "stupid fools" in over-sized text is a real good way to make everyone want you to run the forum.

GM-EGS: I expect you have already disappeared into the abyss but here I go nonetheless. Even if we suppose you did have the appropriate money to invest, how would you go about monetizing the site? You would be crazy to throw money at something you don't think you can profit from.

A straight up, standalone forum for freelancers is quite simply not a sustainable business.

I fully understand your desire to maintain a marketplace as this is the most sustainable source of income but one has to step back and wonder if a webmaster marketplace and a freelance forum are meant to be combined.

I think you'll find that the overwhelming vast majority of freelancer members here (regardless of age or location) would really prefer to keep a buy/sell area of some kind. Personally speaking, I'm probably one of the oldest (age-wise) members here, as I certainly don't fall within the 13-25 demographic. I also probably don't contribute in discussions as much as I should, and I'll try and work on that. However, the marketplace has been a surprisingly valuable resource for my business. I'm a veteran designer and marketer, yet I often don't have the time to develop or design, and the first place I turn to is the TF marketplace. Why? Because when compared to DP.com and other sources, TF has always maintained a little higher caliber of not only trust worthy people, but quality work. I suspect that is because this is a forum where people with talent like to hang out..as opposed to other forums, where god knows who is a member. I've also noticed a significantly higher quality of buyers. Obviously these types of factors are becoming exceedingly rare these days, which should speak volumes of why TF is a much better forum. If you remove the marketplace, you'll more than likely see a significant drop in not only the overall participation of freelancers, but the quality of the posts as well. I have always looked at TF as being tremendously undervalued, and I really believe that it still has huge potential.
