Old  Why don't my posts show?

I still only have one post, even though my 11th post was last week. When the heck do they update. I am close to leaving this forum cause I can't PM or start threads in the marketplace, making it quite useless to me.

There are numerous threads (even in this Suggestions & Feedback forum) on this topic, and the rules page is quite clear about the system in place here.

Essentially, a couple of our forums do not count posts towards an individual's post total: General Discussion, Member Introductions and any of the Marketplace forums. Posts is any of the other (27 or so) forums do count towards your post total, contribute those forums and you'll be well on your way.

I've also been toying with the idea of having any member (whether they've posted or not) have access to PM, Marketplace, etc. after bring registered for a time period (probably 30 days).

Salathe, it's probably a good idea to create a sticky for this question.

Can't go making life easy for people unwilling to read the rules page or look around for others having this "problem".

Hm, I'm not sure about that though, because believe it or not, sales do go through, to "new members" that just registered within a day or first week of their joining. It does help the seller, sell their product no matter what (even to new users with zero post counts).

It's true though, a lot of nOObs join in hopes of just slapping up their sales thread in hopes to get money, but yet there's also those that are willing to buy something that they like and helps keep the marketplace going. If there's a 30 day restriction on the marketplace and so forth, it will or might kill sales for reputable sellers and so forth.

Also, it is kinda nice to have those forums open for viewing for "guests", because it gives them a sense of how things are done here, and what type of "product" or "quality" is being sold around here. Talkfreelance.com marketplace sets itself apart from DigitalPoint Marketplace (for the most part) because of it's quality designers and coders, and whatever else.

Allowing the marketplace to be open and viewed, is a helpful plus to Talkfreelance.com. Regarding the "30 day restriction" deal, maybe do what DigitalPoint.com does, and up the post count required to post in the marketplace, from 10/11 to 25 or so? That can "force" and yet "help" the community in other areas and not just the marketplace.

If user John has to post 25 posts, before posting in the Marketplace, that's 25 posts PER new user posting in other forums, giving other areas more attention, which is what Talkfreelance.com needs as well. I don't know, just my thoughts. I already wrote a book, so I'll be quiet now... LOL!

EDIT: Example, this new member wants a Chris Rowe design, bid $60 for one.

New member has zero post counts and such, but still wants to buy something.

webinno_sale, the posts in this thread will answer your query about the post total not rising with some posts. The rules also cover this, if you'd go and read them.

Your profile page will show infractions, and you'll get an email/PM (for new/regular members respectively) if you do receive a rule infraction point.

Haha, I was actually quite worried that my posts weren't registering. Good thing I didn't run and complain and actually tried to look for the reason. Thanks for clearing it up.

I know, I know... I'm doing it too by replying to someone that initiated the spamming to old crap to start with... riiight...
