  Old  Yahoo is Horrendous

Hello Group:

I was wondering if anyone else is just seeing horrendous targeting from the Yahoo Publisher Beta program? We run a directory type site and their targeting is so bad that it is rediculous.

In addition, they switch to run of network ads all of the time on our site.

We have started looking at some alternative networks.

Look forward to hearing any feedback people may have.

Wini

There is an ad targeting feature in the publisher control panel.

I have tried their ad targeting feature... it doesn't help for our site.

I am looking at a page right now on our site where they have sent us 4 ads:
1. A Dentist in Ft. Lauderdale Florida
2. A real estate Agent in Dallas
3. Another dentist in California
4. Wachovia bank

And yes their payout may be nice but only if someone happens to click on their untargeted ads.

Even though the payout is better you won't get the desired no. of clicks on the ads to earn good revenue due to improper targetting.

I don't have that problem, as 80% of my clicks are accidental

I agree. The targeting is terrible. I have that same problem with YPN. Their targeting features don't seem to help either.
