I believe its a hosting problem, any help?

I have an upload site, and I am trying to get all the images off the site (I plan on switching host soon), so when I go to fireftp.

I get this when I try to download the images to a folder on my desktop

"550 Can't open 1287.jpg: Permission denied : /public_html/uploads/1287.jpg"

Hey,

Sounds like the file does not have the correct CHOWN settings. In SSH cd into the folder and type

Code:

ls -lab

to see if it does have the correct CHOWN settings.

Basically, the file is not owned by you.

It could also be that you were uploading the file and closed during the upload in which case you need to remove the file and re-upload.

Is the directory CHmodded so it can be read?

adam I dont own any of the images that are upload since other people have uploaded them.

And the permission is 0600, only the user read and write is checked
