Vizon, this isn't the place to comment on Jeff's posting style and you know it. Lets keep the discussion, if we can call it that, on the topic of allowing members to change their own user title.
The staff thus far don't seem too enthused about allow this change, care to elaborate on your posts so far guys?

I have to say it could be a good idea: It would mean less workload for the moderating staff, and members would be able to change it as they please. As Salathe stated, with over 1000 posts, the member(s) should be trusted enough and be mature enough not to use inappropriate language.

Yea I think it's a good idea too.
1000+ post change when they want, and the others on request (i don't remember how many posts you need to get it changed now)

It's currently 1000 - it has to be changed by a member of staff.

Yeah. I agree with this. There's not much that we could do but changing it anytime would be nice.

I think its a ignorant argument to say that we'll abuse it. Status is treated just as a signature, and as far as I know those members with over 1000 posts seem to respect the rules, and have an appropriate signature. The members that have over 1000 posts are a valuable asset to the community, and thus I think they should be treated as so. We shouldn't have to ask for permission to change our status, much like we shouldn't (and don't) ask for permission to change our signature.

This is definitely something that needs to be implemented. Why it hasn't been implemented before is a mystery to me. Users with 1000+ posts are obviously established members of the forum and can be trusted to change a setting themselves and i'm sure the mods of this forum have better things to do with themselves than change other members user titles again and again.
It would be in everyone's best interest if this feature was turned on.

It has been brought up for discussion again amongst staff. You'll know as soon as I know.
