Not sure why you've brought this point into the equation?

Yes the payment was late, I'm not bringing that into dispute. But why mention about PayPal fees and exchange rates. This is not the clients fault. You should not expect the client to pay more to cover PayPal's fee's nor should you blame them for current exchange rates.

I agree with this point, this is why if you're worried about losing anything you should charge in £'s and not $'s.

I charge in $'s and roughly half it for value.

I'd say you were more then fair, they even received source files so I don't see why it was impossible for them to make small edits themselves anyway.

I agree with the point too, you should always think about currency before charging. But it seems like he's bringing up the point after the client has paid and saying that he's lost money because he's had to exchange. He should have thought about that before.

I would have changed it because he is the client and after he has payed he is entitled to any changes however what you shouldn't have done is change it before he payed you. Also be sure to ask him if its the final design and that he won't need anything else changed. And the deal is closed.

Then you should have taken such costs into account when you quoted him.

It's your own fault if you didn't outline your terms before you started the work. If you said unlimited revisions or whatever then you have to commit to the clients requests. Personally, I would have done the last revision (didn't seem alot of work) and explained that this would be the last one you would be prepared to do.

Always try and keep clients happy, they will refer you to us and come back for more. Upsetting the wrong people can give yourself a bad reputation.

Actually i would and i always put the extra in for paypal fee's when ever im paying out, its comman courtesy unless ofcourse Paypal is not the clients prefered method of payment.

Not that my post has anything to do with BP's initial post

Personally i think if they had said they were happy with it and everything had been finalized then thats that, i would have probably made the change if it was a small edit just to keep them happy (they might come back for more! ) - but if you feel you did you all could then thats fair enough to me

You make a good point Robson. Personally I would have also done the small changes. It's also a good idea to keep the client informed of your terms fully. You have to include that asking for changes 2 weeks down the line is not something you are willing to do for free.
