Is it better to be certified in such things as flash dreamweaver and in the job market AKA REAL WORLD?

I think it'd give you more credibility when you look for a job. It also looks nice in your resume .

Yes.

Depends on what level of a designer you are on. I am in training for a couple things right now. For certification purposes. For designing purposes, it looks great for resumes etc. Corporate companies also look for designers with great resumes and having certifcation and education definitely helps.

I am almost done with my certifcation for Photoshop 7, CS, and CS2 at www.vtc.com

I'm a certified Web designer through www.brainbench.com - this involved achieving multiple certifications in related fields including, Dreamweaver MX, HTML 4.0, Photoshop 7, Flash 5, Web Design Concepts and Web Accessibility.

It costs around $200 a year to take as many certifications within that timeframe as you like and is recognised by many large corporations including IBM.
