Adsense ads in WordPress?

Hey I have never used Wordpress before so sorry If this question seems dumb. I just want to know how you can add adsense ads on the right hand side of a blog. Not within a post itself, I know there are plugins that will do that. But I just want to add them vertically on the right side.

You can either use a plugin/sidebar-widget to do this or just edit your theme to include the Adsense code wherever you want it.

Use the widgets mate, just make a text one and insert your code

You can put the ad script into a widget. Not at all hard
