  Old  Outsourcing internet jobs

What do you guys feel about people outsourcing web jobs (coding, design, etc) via the internet to other people in other countries who will work for 1/4 of what you charge?

Are they taking business away from you, and are they forcing you to work for a lot cheaper?

Will this leave room for you in the internet world?

How will you deal with that?

--

Thanks for your answers guys, I really appreciate it. (this is for an English paper I'm writing)

when people want quality, they come to the more expensive designers, people naturally associate cost with quality.

I do agree, but do you think the cheapo workers are bringing down the market as a whole?

People do like their deals, but I do agree that when you want quality, you will definitely go to the more expensive side of the spectrum.

If you search through the web for opinions regarding outsourcing (offshoring in this case), you will find that for many clients it was a very painful experience.
It's a lottery - you can find a great provider with very competitive pricing, but you can also be scammed by someone.
If you do some "homework" before starting a cooperation with the new provider (research, portfolio verification, some conversation about skills, etc), you can greatly reduce the risk. In many cases it's the communication skill that works as the first step filter.

Ye, i think that many people will firstly go for the cheaper option then when they find out the quality isn't as godd and neither is the service, they'll learn to go with the more expensive and reliable designers/coders.

I agree with DIGIT. specially people of south asia or china ar working in cheap. But you should know that you are counting in dollars but when they are converting it to their local currency it is a huge amount for them.

Yeah, I realize that it's fine for the people that are doing the jobs, but it hurts everyone else who are trying to work for reasonable wages.

That's business. I don't believe in blaming other people for our economy's faults.

Oh, I'm not blaming anyone. I'm just trying to get peoples opinions on this matter.
