What software do you use to program? I learned a little bit about programming Java last year in a class that I took however I completely forgot mostly everything except for "Hello World". For those programmers out there, what is a good, programming software to use?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Do you mean Javascript? Java is a computer programing language and javascript is a client side scripting language.

PHP all the way, squire! AJAX used in conjunction with JSON definitely comes recommended from me. A little article on JSON if you're unfamiliar.

No, just Java in general.

I was hoping to learn PHP as well but I realized that most of the languages are somewhat similar to each other.

Which language would be better to learn so that I can program applications but also code websites so that they function faster and easier?

computer programming and web programming are separate fields. C++ is the best language for computer programming and PHP is the best for web programming.
