Old  Rules for developing a web application

The internet has given rise to a constant competition for eyeballs. In this race for the maximum number of viewers, only those websites with something fresh to offer in terms of content and design stand out.

While starting on a web application project it is vital to keep some factors in mind. Firstly you must determine the scope of the project. The client’s specific requirements come into play here. You have to determine what the client wishes to market, who his customers will be, what services he wishes to provide, what his budget is and tailor the web application accordingly. Secondly, you should put pen to paper and list the estimated cost of the project, man hours required, other resources needed, possible challenges to be overcome at every stage of the project. By breaking down and analyzing every part of the project before starting on it you will have a clear idea about how to proceed. Thirdly, do a market analysis of the competition. Sometimes it pays to follow in another’s footsteps because you can avoid their mistakes and adopt their good points. Fourthly, do not rush through the development process to meet some marketing deadline. Set realistic deadlines and try to stick to them. Hurrying through the development process will lead to bugs in the system and more time, money and effort to get rid of them. Lastly, test the application several times and within all possible parameters to avoid glitches at the time of implementation. Following these simple rules will help you deliver a quality product and establish your reputation as a true professional.

In Web Application Development India has several expert service providers and is a dream destination for outsourcing. This is due to its vast pool of talented, English speaking computer professionals who charge a fraction of their western counterparts without compromising on quality.

Another rule he didnt mention is never go with anyone who has to mention their employees speak English. See what happened to all the large companies tech support? Do you really want that to happen to you?

Spamming forums also takes a hit on your credibility.

I'll stick to my current network.

One has to ask - who could design a web application without already knowing all the above? It's just the basics that they teach in software engineering courses. It's in every text book on software engineering (see Pressman for example)
