There are many many hosts that do not go down every week. Haha.

Some hosts I have experience with are Hostgator, Eirca, Knownhost, Liquidweb, Eurovps, iMountain, Jodohost etc.

I would also recommend Cartika, Rochen, United, Pair etc.

It would depend greatly on how many accounts the host puts on each server and how overloaded it actually is, and how well the company manages it.

I was personally with HostGator for a few months and overall they weren't bad but I did leave them because the server got to where it would go down for 20~30 minutes here and there throughout a day.

Hm ... can recommend you some companies with stable services and long history in a web hosting business: ********.biz, lunarpages.com and *********.com.
They have a nice reputation and you'll be able to choose what you need from them.

I use 1and1. I think my sites have only been down for 3 minutes in the past 3 years.

1and1 overall doesn't seem too bad service wise, until you try to cancel and they continue to bill you for 6 months and then send you to collections.

I've seen that happen over and over.
