Question about MacBook Pro
I just bought a MacBook Pro and there seems to be an issue with the display. For some reason its making this curtain effect at the bottom of the screen. Its like shades of black alternating with each other. Do you know what the issue is? I'm wondering if its something I/we did with the settings. All help is appreciated.

Could well be a problem with the LED's that light the screen, I've seen that happen on other new laptops. What happens if you adjust the screen brightness...is it still noticeable at the highest and lowest brightness settings?
It might correct itself, but if not, might be worth giving Apple a ring.

When I adjusted the brightness, it was still noticeable. However, I rebooted and it went away. It was the first time I booted without it being plugged into the wall, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Every thing's fine now

My goal was to get a MBP, but I got a MB because when I reached $1350, I couldn't wait no longer. I regret it now

Sorry to here that Garrett. The two units are so similar these days, with the main differences being screen size and graphics card, that I'm sure the MB is a fine machine.
I purchased the base model, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn, 2GB memory, 200GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB, with multi-touch. I was going to get the 2.5GHz/512MB 8600 GT but I decided my money was better spent on software. The main reason I'd get the middle one is to play games, and I decided to buy a console instead. No regrets
