No, you can. Just do a quick search online and you'll get thousands upon thousands of results about iPhone unlocking methods. There's a whole range of software options and no one I've spoken to has ever been called by Apple about it so I'm not sure where you get your information from…

Theres a program out there that allows you to use different phone companies that are cheaper than att. IMO its all a waist of money, unless your obsessed with the internet and youtube. Oh and its a little fat.

You can only get on a GSM network, the big ones are ATT and T-Mobile.
However I agree with getting the iPod touch instead. My gf's brother bought the phone, had a blackberry, found the touch- and went and sold his iPhone on ebay and got the touch because blackberry's email system is the best out there (arguable, but I agree as well, I regret my pocketpc)

Do you want your phone to break into or something? This baby is well designed.

The price won't get any lower than it is now, it's already dropped a large amount. If a new model is introduced with a larger flash disk then it will just replace the old 8GB model's price, the current $399 price won't be shifting for a long time. Your best bet is to just get a refurbished model.

The price wont drop now, a lot of people are now happy with the price. They'll introduce a bigger model and i doubt they'll have two different size models either.
I'm getting mine November 9th when it arrives here.
