No wonder, you use McAffe XD. Get Nod 32.

The problem has been somewhat solved. Whatever it is, it keeps coming back. When I turn on Spybot and tell it to scan, it detects the intrusion and gets rid of it. But like I said, it keeps coming back. How can I get rid of it for good? My father mentioned something about the registry...

I would advice you run HiJackthis and look for unusual new programs or processes running. Then google that process to see it origin and how to remove it. There are lots of forums that specializes in removing that spyware, when you find the right one, follow the instructions carefully. Some spyware requires a lot of steps before they are completely removed. You would also be needing a number of tools to remove them. I have had several spyware problems before and this is how I deal with them.

After you took care of the problem. Download Zone Alarm for better protection. Hope it helps

I had this on my laptop. Only way I got rid of it for good was to format. I tried almost 15 different programs including NOD 32, WinXP Repair PRO, Registry Mechanic, SpytBot, Spy Sweeper, Ad-Aware. It just doesn't go away until I formatted.

I also tried manually deleting it in the registry but that didn't work either.

get windows live onecare. My friends computer had ads popping up in IE every 2 minutes and on occasion explorer.exe would go away leaving the screen blank. I did a virus scan with webroot(or something like that) and it hardely helped. I got the 90 day trial for windows live onecare, did a full sweep and everything was good as new.
