You just couldn't get the same feel of having a mac, with just having the os on your PC.
Most PC's are not able to have Mac OS X installed because it's requires certain hardware types that most PC's simply don't have.
Like some previously said there's Mac OSx86. It's illegal and takes some time to install but it works for the most part. From what i've heard there's problems with the graphics and sounds after installations.
Also, before I got my Mac i used "flyakiteosx" on my PC and from my experiences with it I didn't like it. I wouldn't recommend using it.

It requires hardware that PC's cant have. Their motherboards work differently.

Yes, like others said Mac OSx86 project is actually illegal but of course, many people still use it. My friend ran osx86, and I found it to be very buggy and had many faults. If I were you I would just make the investment and by a mac.
It's well worth it.

Hmm,
Looking at OSx86 now, it has made a big improvement to what it used to be. Now i'm getting a PC and putting Tiger on it  if you go to osx86project.org theres a bunch of info there bout it. Yes it isn't legal lol your a pirate if you use it hahaha

i used to use flyakite..it isnt changing it into a mac... it is just a higly extensive skin..changes boot screen, and the whole look...but in the end it is just a skin really

If you have a legal copy of OSX, then you can install it legally in VMWare virtual desktop on XP, but you have to modify a bunch of files, or you could just download a pre-modified copy of it, which then makes it illegal in some countries. If your hardware is basically the same as a mac mini, imac or macbook, then OSX will work pretty much without any problems.
