New system, your thoughts?
This is the setup I am planning on buying, it is very affordable and extremely overclockable.
CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 2.13GHz 1.06GHz FSB 2MB LGA 775 Dual Core. The 2.13GHz C2D can be easily overclocked up to 3.2GHz, with 1:1 ratios for the 800MHz RAM, using a simple copper heatsink for cooling. This is a super fast, super stable setup.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel965P Core 2 Duo DDR2 800 PCI-EX16 Intel Pentium Conroe 6SATA2 1PATA PCI-EX16. The motherboard is very well built with stable components, it also supports Quad Core processors, which means it has the pipelines open already for super fast performance.
Video Card: PALIT 7600GT DDR3 256MB 128Bit HDTV, DVI, PCI-E. I am going cheap on the video card, because gaming is not my thing, and it is so cheap it will not be a problem to upgrade it in the future. Also it is running DDR 3, which has better performance than some of the new 8000 series.
RAM: 4 sticks of Generic 1G DDR2 800MHz PC6400 SDRAM Memory Chip, they can be overclocked to 870MHz with no problems, and super performance gain from cheap RAM.
This will be a very high performance, great value setup. Your thoughts?

Looks great though will be an awesome computer!
Nick

How much will it cost? I'm looking around for a new system and this one seems to offer great specs
Why not wait until July 22th, for the Intel pricedrop so you can get a E6600?

I'd change the processor to the E6420. All of the specs are the same as the one you mentioned, yet you get a 4MB L2 cache just like the more expensive processors. Plus, its the exact same price. (This is the processor that I ordered a few weeks ago.)
Also, with the video card. I recommend spending a little bit more money for a Direct x10 compatible card. However you do have a good point that its so cheap, you wouldn't worry about replacing it. But in my opinion, I'd rather get the DX10 card now and not worry about potential problems down the road.

James, that's exactly what I am doing, and it's $30 cheaper!!! I only realised after posting that, that I selected the 2mb cache one by mistake.
Here's a review on the 7600/8600 GT series of video cards:
http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=637
Basically it says the 8600GT is a joke, not worth it for DX10 capabilities, especially considering DX10 games will be a long way off from being the norm. It is way outperformed by the 7600GT in almost every benchmark test, so why upgrade simply for DX10 compatibility?
Gille, the E6420 is still the best bang for the buck, it's the most overclockable cpu for the price. Cost wise the whole computing system is very cheap, $792 New Zealand, but doesn't include monitor/case/psu/hdd/dvdrw/floppy/keyboard/mouse.
Vizon, I live in New Zealand so I am purchasing from New Zealand suppliers. Also read the review on the 7600/8600 GT cards (I liked to it above)

I'm sourcing all the parts through www.pricespy.co.nz, plus I have two wholesalers whom I get RAM and hard/optical drives through. The best cheap retailer is PcOnlineShop, based in Auckland, but I also use Ascent Technologies simply for their reliability and professionalism (and free shipping nationwide).
