External Hard Drive Suggestions
Hi folks,
I've been wanting some extra storage space for a while now, deleting files to make room gets annoying when a month or two down the line you need to find and re-download the file because you need it! I'd like somewhere to push my extensive photo collection, movies, tv shows, etc, etc separate from my internal drives.
So, do any of you have external hard drives? Any favourites or suggestions? I'd be using the drive pretty much all the time, swapping it between my mac and my 'work' laptop if that makes a difference to choice.
Btw, I've got my eye on this one.
Cheers,
Salathe

I suggest taking the side off your case, and plugging another one in
EDIT: Although you can't go wrong with western digital. Ironicly I am awaiting on my 250gig internal WD drive for my new computer. Should be here tomorrow.

Well I have a SeaGate Free Agent Desktop 250 hard drive, and I absolutely love it. It's very small and sleek, and it has fast processing speeds - it was also very easy to format for my Mac.

I have a 320gb Western Digital "MyBook" the same colour as the 500gb one you're leaning towards.
It's never failed me, it's plug n' play (on windows and ubuntu - and I hear it's the same for mac) and it turns on and off with your computer.
No complaints!

I have that WD mybook in the 160 version, love it. Only complaint is size (and I have seen that WD came out with a smaller version already).
