Its true and it can happen. Generally in Shared accounts provided by Hosting provider, all the accounts setup on a particular server share the IP of the server. So even if a single domain of any user hosts a abuse content or anything illegal, his IP will be blacklisted and this will have a adverse effect on other domains as well. But I think the hosting provider is also well aware of such issue and he already takes necessary measures to avoid this.

If you are so concerned about shared IP, then simply opt dedicated IP address. In addition, you can host all of the sites under one dedicated IP....

Hey Paul, I'm not seeing the post you quoted. Am I going blind?
And IP's get blocked every day of week - and not just single IP's, sometimes entire blocks.

Seems I am also blind now Perhaps aliens kidnapped stufftheme's post

Anyway, you are right; Ips get blocked everyday due to many reasons and that's why a lot of reputable web hosts hesitate to provide a bunch of Ips.

Several people request the range of IP addresses for SEO, but normally they use them for malpractices, therefore allotted Ips for SEO gets blacklisted soon.

Get your own server is not the best solution either because you can use the money to by a bigger TV, why not?
You can buy a dedicated IP if you are using a VPS though
