  Old  Tapatalk?

Are there any plans for tapatalk on TFL? I know there's a mobile skin. And it's not bad, but it's not as good as tapatalk, IMO.

I had suggested it over a year ago though and as you can see, nothing came of it .

Too bad that the app is a paid one for end-users.

I have been aware of Tapatalk for a long time already. I do not like it for few reasons:

- members have to purchase the app
- a branding-free option is very costly for forum owners
- forums that join become an essential marketing engine in enabling their userbase to join other communities as well

Most of all, I do not see the benefit of having Tapatalk when we have our very own and free native mobile skin that does the job. Nobody I know actually uses their mobile to actively participate and post (you simply cannot enjoy the same level of browsing and interaction experience through your mobile device). Keeping track by reading new posts and messages is what most mobile activity goes down to at this time.

True. I've never used my mobile phone to post here. Its slightly inconvenient.

I bought Tapatalk for my ipad tonite hoping that this and a few other of my favourite forums would be supported and sadly found some were not - I was looking forward to sitting on the couch using my ipad and scouring the fourms - not to be though, am now sitting in a cold office in front of my desktop comp.

Couldn't imagine using my iphone for forum browsing but definately on the ipad - would be very convenient

Tapatalk would just be adding an unnecessary middle man into the process. It will only be a matter of time until vB makes mobile access a lot easier, and more than likely custom apps will become incredibly easy. TalkFreelance App on your iPhone in 2012..

As an aside, to maintain the quality of content on the forum and try and lift discussions to a valuable level, we need to take a hard line on ultimately useless posts such as the below. No disrespect to the account owners (if you are not bots) but these are merely posts to get a link seen. I've seen many a forum gradually lose quality to the point where the ratio is 1 valuable post to 10 useless.

Perhaps an approach needs to be discussed behind closed doors. While TF can't really afford to be rejecting new users I'm certain these members are not the answer to waning discussion.
