A primary factor to this discussion has to do with location. Rates can vary based on the market value for design from one part of the world to the other. Minimum wage in the US is around $7 an hour while the average Pakistanian earns $20 a week/month.

From a US standpoint you feel you are undercut...
From a third world perspective you can't fathom why anyone would ask for anything more than $300 for a design job that takes a couple of days.

If you feel as if you are undercut - Then do something about it by going to google, learn some business skills, and apply it. Be thankful you aren't from a country that pays $50 a month salary.

I am not here to take one side or another, just pointing out what I see.

This is so true Justin. All pricing is relative.

It depends if I'm writing the content, creating the images, etc. Does it have graphical menu navigation? Text navigation? Do they have photos they want on the site but I have to go into Photoshop and tweak them?

I'd say at least $300 USD.

The lowest priced site I did last year was $180 because it was ONE page and setup an email account.

Then the next was $450 for a 4 page site that was fairly basic.

Then the next was over $700.
