  Old  GPL - allowed to sell?

Hi,

If i download a script under the GPL, modify it, am i then allowed to sell that script?

I dont think so, its covered under the GPL surely.

You could always use a GPL script for "inspiration" and build a custom script...that would be passable.

Oh and reselling a GPL, thats modded, people wouldnt purchase, they'd just mod it themselves surely

I believe you can, but you have to release it under the same license.

Have you read the GPL Licence? It would state in there, i would think no. You would be able to edit and give out maybe without sell.

Does the GPL allow me to sell copies of the program for money?
Yes, the GPL allows everyone to do this. The right to sell copies is part of the definition of free software. Except in one special situation, there is no limit on what price you can charge. (The one exception is the required written offer to provide source code that must accompany binary-only release.)
