  Old  How do you code?

I'm curious as to how others code. As we all know, time is money - the faster work is completed the better the hourly rate, the more projects you can take, and the more free time you have.

I write all the HTML, then do the CSS, checking in IE6 and FF as I go (generally there aren't problems in any other browsers)

I used to check in IE6, IE7, FF2, Opera 9 and Safari 3 as I went. I also used to do the the HTML and CSS in sections. Basically, a hell of a lot of time alt+tabbing for the same result. I have found that my current method is much faster.

I do it in sections, I'll code a main div, then apply the css for it.
check in FF and IE7 then after a few sections I'll check IE6.

Once the site is finished I check opera and safari.

Do it in firefox. Fix it in IE7 / IE6 / Opera / Safari. Job done.

thats where the beauty of ietab comes into play, quickly and efficiently you can check both FF and IE at the same time.

I seem to code just like others. I normally just start coding the main of it then start adding the little bits of code in the middle. I check both FF and IE as I go along which makes debugging it go a lot faster.

I do a section of the HTML, then write the CSS for it. Checking each section in the major browsers as I go. Its quite easy to do when you have two monitors.

I write all the html first then some basic css. Fix any bugs, and just keep checking. I tend to test one browser at a time, because I still don't have any IE rendering on my mac just yet xD Working on a laptop is sometimes annoying, though. I have a wireless mouse but not a wireless keyboard x.x

I find that time consumg - rather than do it bit at a time and know where the IE problem is, you have a whole page and have to figure out where it is (sometimes easy, sometimes hard)

How do I code? Well I put my left arm in, my left arm out, in, out, in, out and shake it all about, then I do the HTML codey and load up the browsers to check it out, that's what it's all about! Wooooah HTML codey, woah HTML codey, woah HTML codey, knees bent, arms stretched, ra ra ra!

But seriously, I writes me HTML. Then I writes me CSS. Then I deploys it to the web because I've been doing this long enough to know what works.

P.S. This post may or may not be entirely above board. Perhaps.
