Old  windows on top of another windows?

heres the problem, and hope one of the experts can help me out.

So i was having trouble starting my computer, the NTLDR is missing error message came up all the time, so fixed that then my computer wouldnt work still, it just kept on restarting right before it brings the windows XP logo.
so i decided to install another version of windows xp on top of the one I have thinking that i can have dual boot.
does that work, and how as I can see that my old account is still there when I go into my new windows and check Documents and Settings.

sorry for long storry but this is really important as it had so much of web development work!! thnx in advance

  Old

Well, to dual boot, you have to install a new windows on a different partition. For example:

When you install Windows for the first time, it will ask for you to make some partitions. You just need to make two (or more if you want) that give you enough space to install windows and save all your programs, etc. The, you can go ahead and install windows for the first time on one of those partitions.

Once you are done, pop back in the Windows disk, pick the other partition and install. And voila, you have two installs of Windows.
