Have a look at some of these websites:

http://www.theemiratesnetwork.com/co...r/metatag1.htm
http://www.aposition.co.uk/web_positioning_META.htm

Also, go onto any webpage on the net and view its source. You can then see how people write their meta tags.

Good luck

Put it between the <head> and </head> tag in your HTML code.

Hello Ryan,

In the <head> element, directly below the TITLE, is where the META element goes.

Here's an example:
HTML Code:
<head>
	<title>Title of Web Page</title>
	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
	<meta name="keywords" content="Keyword 1, Keyword 2, Keyword 3" />
	<meta name="description" content="Describe what the Web page is about" />
Note that the forward slashes are present. This is required in XHTML. In HTML, remove them and the space before the closing bracket of the META tag.

Yeah, but I don't use generators. I actually have a page template that I use which allows me to just insert the appropriate meta infomration where needed .

Exactly, and for the future -- there are actually generators our there that just let you plug your info in and get the whole code at the touch of a button. Ones such as:

http://vancouver-webpages.com/META/mk-metas.html
http://www.addme.com/meta.htm
http://www.submitcorner.com/Tools/Meta/
