  Old  vBulletin Order Form

Alright so I am sitting here just talking to friends and trying to decide if i should pore-order v4 of vBulletin but i just noticed something that discourages me greatly.. Their order form does not use an SSL certificate. For those who don't know what it is its basically a security feature to protect data that gets entered.

Noticing this makes me wonder if they really care about their clients or if they really do not care what happens to our data. Now I am thinking of going with IPB instead.

Yes i did consider that its because of the site re-design but a company like that should know that client data is important to keep safe and that SSL certificates help and they should have implemented that before they officially released it.

Cheers,
Randy

I'd never pass my credit card info over a non-SSL connection. The fact that they don't use one shows that they are idiots, this is basic stuff.

vBulletin doesn't process payments through their website. You get redirected to either Paypal or their credit card payment processor before entering any financial information.

Still besides the fact, information such as name, etc.. can be used to steal your identity.

You should probably worry more about using whois guards than your info being intercepted through form submission.

Yes while i understand that gary that whois info is simply not my true address and is a partners address. As for the number it is a google voice number.

Also i use actually addresses simply for the business use to do business listings and other items.
