  Old  good cms?

one of my friends is interested in starting a site similar to all the popular sites such as ebaums world, big-boys, etc... he wants me to help him set it up, but i dont know where to start with some type of CMS that makes it easy for him to add stuff (his html knowledge etc is very very limited). anyone have a suggestion on something that is easy to use and would be great for this purpose (adding pictures, videos, articles, etc).

We at exoMedia could hook you up with a custom CMS at a very low price, est. $50 +/-. If you are looking for free/open-source scripts, I would recommend Mambo.

$50 for a full custom CMS is dirt cheap. I would suggest doing something like that rather then getting a free one. Or learn PHP and SQL and make your own!

Thank you Paul The disadvantage to trying to learn PHP/MySQL and making your own is securing it and the need to fix bugs if any. You can see an example of a CMS in progress here.

That is digusting. You'd make more doing it for free.

Not to mention you're breaking rules by promoting your own services outside the marketplace.....the guy is asking for recommendations, please DO NOT plug your own services.

People get paid more then that per hour to create custom management applicatons. Doing it for free would at least create no expectation of making decent money, and I would consider that less of a loss.
