Registering Clients' Domains w/GoDaddy
I am just beginning a freelance web design business and need to decide where to register client domain names when necessary. I currently have a reseller web hosting account that provides a reseller domain account with Enom. However, Enom charges $8/year for private registration/ID protection (on top of the $10 to register a name). So I'm thinking about using GoDaddy instead since they give private registration free if you register 5 or more domains. I'm thinking most clients would like to have their personal/contact info protected.
Does GoDaddy frown on using one account to register domains for yourself as well as for clients? I looked at their Reseller model and it's not what I want. I just want to register domains and point them to the correct nameservers. I don't want any other GoDaddy services and I'm not looking to make a profit from domain name registration.
Also, is GoDaddy a good (reliable, reputable) registrar? I have one .co name registered with them and haven't had any problems, but it's just one name and it has only been for a few months.
Thanks in advance.

GoDaddy is a reliable registrar. I have roughly 60 domains with them and the only issue I had years ago was solved relatively painlessly. If you don't mind screening through dozens of other offers before checkout (which I really don't like), you can get away with low pricing. There are always some coupons available out there that allow you to save even more.

Thanks so much, Artashes. I also asked about the reseller issue in the GoDaddy forums and received a fairly quick reply that I don't have to choose a reseller account. That and your response here make me feel better about switching my domains to GoDaddy.

I wouldn't suggest placing ALL of your domains in one basket. Split them between at least 2 registrars. I've been using Namecheap.com as my other registrar of choice.

I plan to leave my two most important domains where they are for now. I will move the others to GoDaddy in order to have the five I need to get free private registration. Then for clients I think I'll use GoDaddy when the clients want private registration and eNom (one of my current registrars that I've used for years) when they don't.

GoDaddy is reliable domain registrar. However it is not low cost at all. They charge $1 - $3 on different domain extensions compared to any average more than the low cost domain registrars. There is another things about them. I can not say anything about their hosting services, because I have never given them a try. However there are many negative reviews about their web hosting services.
