  Old  beat of the city

I recently completed this. My first vector illutration. 8Hours into this, generated over 15 different files and have been back and forth between illustrator and photoshop on this one.

Yea, all that and it's just simple.

All comments welcomed.

Wow, that's wonderful. The neck & jaw area could use some touch up. Either way, great work.

Nice work

Just one question, why go back and forth bewtween Photoshop and Illustrator? This could all have been done in Illustrator, and you do not lose the vector properties that way. (Styles in Photoshop, except stroke I think, are not rendered in vector format -- they are scaled then rasterized)

Oh, back and forth because certain things I'm comfortable doing in photoshop while others in illustrator. As you can see, styles were used so PS comes in for that.
Bottomline, I'm really new to illustrator and have been using it intensly for the past 8 weeks. So as time goes by, hopefully, I'll get more comfotable and probably won't need PS...ahh..not really. I love PShop so I'll always include it in my work somehow, just cuz I wanna say PShop did this .

Thanks for comment. Glad u like.

Cool, it's always nice to see someone learning Illustrator. It's such a great, and neglected program.

BTW, did you use source images? I'd be interested in seeing them if so. If not, I'm even more impressed. Keep up the good work

Oh yea, I used source image off a stock site. It's my first try so I gotta get a hang of a few stuff. After a couple more tries, I'll start using my own drawings.

Vector of the women looks good but the rest of it could be improved, not liking the goldy colour used.
