  Old  So what do YOU do?

Hiya…

Is it just me or is there more discussions on web/graphic design and development than Freelancing? I mean, I’ve been running around here the last couple days and just now I realized I had been talking shop about design and development and very little about freelancing itself (client relations, CRM, sales and marketing, policy, freelance marketplaces, business development, pricing and estimating, you get the idea).

Certainly there are some posts in the related areas (business and legal, marketing etc..) they are VERY disproportionate to the other boards.

Seems we’re a little short on ‘Talk’ing Freelance. No?

So here’s a question. Do you ;

1. Make a fulltime living freelancing?
2. Make a part time living?
3. Have a day job?
4. Go to school and dream of freelancing?

Let’s see what we have here shall we mates?

I have to go with number 4, but I'm planning on making that dream a reality. I'm currently reading up on copywriting, and how to put together words that sell. It's pretty interesting, and I hope i can make some money off of it during the summer, while I'm still learning the ropes.

Number 1 for me but I'm actually looking for something full-time again because I miss the regular income. Didn't mind it being irregular when I was single but with a family to support it's hard.

That's the difference between a goal and a dream. a goal is a dream with motive and a deadline

I fall under #3.

I work full time at a printing company doing basic graphic design stuff, business cards and such. I do websites and misc other stuff freelance on the side for some extra money.
