I think he was 14 when he first started hacking/messing with the Mozilla engine to create Firefox... about 18 or 19 now - I think.

I'm 13 and I can say I have way more talent then people at 36 who has been into designing for 3 to 4 years, but what jon is saying is also correct ~ no one at 13 would get into a big company like anyone at 30

To have messed with code like that at that age he must have either been a genius or he must have started coding when he was really young.
I was a total idiot at 13...I still am an idiot, but less of one

well somehow I had (matt) on my buddy list for AIM, he IMed alittle bit ago. I understand why you think he is childish.
I think age does affect the respect you get from older people. I heard along time ago that studies say that people that are 18+ or something think 13+ cant have a logical conversation but I wouldnt say that is true for everyone.

I think age does matter. In terms of designing/programming, there are alot of bright kids out there who are much better than any adult, so in terms of that it's irrelevent. When it comes to maturity, experience and communication, age can be a barrier and can often than not hold people back and lose people clients. I've dealt with so many kids in my time and this always shows through (quite recently i've found alot of people do act mature though, those being around the age of 15-16).
But of course, if you're 15 you can't get a job, credit card, drive, sign contracts etc.
