Code Off :)
Hey
I think we should have a code off, i mentioned the topic in a recent thread. I think, that we should get a medium complex layout and have maybe 2 sections; xhtml/css and wordpress. I think the layout should be wordpress and if someone wants to enter the wordpress one they need to do the xhtml/css aswell.
To judge the 'profesionality' we should judge someones turnaround time by the time they recieve the PSD to the time they PM the xhtml/css prview.
For judging it should be;
Loading time,
Amount of images
Closenes to the PSD
SEO
And overall commenting and easynes to edit.
If anyone has suggestions, comments complaints or is going to offer some potential prizes please just reply. I think i would be able to get some decent prizes if people back me up!
Thanks guy

I don't agree with the Wordpress suggestion at all.
Anyway.. I'll quite happily be a judge.

I support this idea as a competition.
I'll be a competitor.

I stand by this instead.
I also think it should be arranged by the staff, too.

I don't want to sound against this idea because I'm not but I just don't see there being a lot of interest in this. I know coders and coders don't work for free (which is pretty much what this is), then even if their is a worthwhile prize not many coders will want to risk it on the off-chance that they might win something. Then there is also the question of where the design to be coded is going to come from?
Like I said I'm not against this idea at all but it needs a lot more planning and, personally, I would like to see a lot of interest from potential entrants before something like this went ahead (nothing worse than a failed contest).
Just needs some more thinking through, do you know of any places that already holds coding contests like this? Might be worthwhile checking them out and seeing how they do things, work out the best way to ensure interest.

Please make the prize something original designs can be found anywhere, and most often, in contests, they are crappy
