Old  Too much inspiration? (look inside)

What do you guys think of this? Sixmode entered this into a competition for another forum. It angers me....because after paying good money for a unique identity just to have a tf knockoff doing the rounds.

Look at the colours, the dropshadow, the way the navigation extends over the edge. Does that look original to you? Does that look inspiried? Does it look ripped?

Thoughts......

hmmm, the borders and bg colours maybe, it is inspired i can see but sixmode is a good artist, lets see how the rest looks before we jump to any conclusions.

well the way it overlaps and has the darker colour down the side does look a great deal like the style here, like n0vi said you'll soon know if it is or not by how the rest turns out. . .

What contest was this on?

And yes, it does look a bit over-inspired.

The botrder looks exactly similar yes, but the colors of it are slightly different. It's hard to tell whether it was ripped or not because he could have still slightly changed the colors with contrast/adjust brightness.

Looks like someone stole your color scheme and just changed the colors them self slightly. There is not much you can do unfortunately, but also keep in mind that this background and border style is very common (see www.4templates.com). It's a fact, when something looks good, someone will copy it.
