Which Application is best to create Special effects Videos?

Hello members, I am new and I want to learn something on video, how to add after effects in videos, is there any user friendly software available on net which I can chose and create my video with lots more special effects in it. I don’t want go in big application details; I just need to add some custom effects to make my videos in Hollywood style.

Somebody suggested me to go for CS4 Adobe after effects, after looking to the size of that application I quit, its too huge to handle such big one and I don’t have time to study, I need readymade ones, like adding pictures, adding some customized after effects with text or pictures, some sounds and that’s it..

Please don’t suggest me for Windows Movie maker or Animoto, I need something good ones. I need your valuable suggestion.

iMovie would be excellent for you its really easy to use. However not sure if its available for Windows as i am on Mac.

from what i have read, you seem to be asking for something like a editing program, since a editing program can be simple and has a majority of effects you can use.

my suggestions would be "Adobe Premiere" "Sony Vegas" and also "Adobe Photoshop" is nice to make effects, but u will have to do it frame by frame and animating it.
