  Old  3D design programs

I want to start to create more 3D art work with my logo's and website designs, and was curious on what you think is the best program to start learning? One that is relatively simple to use or learn. I'm not going to create huge peices of 3D art work, just little bits and peaces in places of my designs.

Thanks,

No 3D program for me has been simple to learn. They're always so confusing at first, but after you get the grasp of them, it's not that hard. There's many, many great 3D programs out there to choose from. Personally, I use 3D Studio Max. It's great for modeling, but takes some time to understand. Plus, it's not easy on your pocket.

I have to agree - 3D programs are not easy unless you are doing some landscape.

I've tried several 3D programs and I can't get the hang of them. I also can't get the hang of flash, so I probably have a lot more to worry about than just 3D modelling.

Most of the 3D programs out there have demo versions. You should test drive them - see what feels good to you as an artist. I recommend Cinema 4D (www.maxon.net). Integrates better than the others into the Adobe product line - tools you are most likely already using.

Also, they have a full-featured entry level product that is less expensive and you can always upgrade with more functionality later.

I'm being trained in 3dmax right now, it's not too hard. Once you get a good understanding of the program its pretty straight forward, like davidyankovich said.

Try starting with truespace, it's what I did. It will get you the basic understanding then move to 3dmax.
