Well, here is the logo I received, and as you can see, it's no where near the quality of those in his portfolio (or even of you're orb), BUT, with that being said, what do you expect for $10.00. I didn't hire him for a corporate identity or anything, but it would have been nice to know what the elements are supposed to be in this logo. Anyway, you should have my email Mark. I'll await your response.

Mark, you requested a Hollywood theme, as you run a Hollywood/ entertainment site. The colors in the logo, were requested by you, as were the spotlights. The font is the same used by the Hollywood sign. I was assuming that since you ran a hollywood/entertainment website that you would have recognized a film strip (I'm assuming that is what you're referring to when you said you weren't sure what the elements were), since you requested the other elements.
Edit
I wanted to add, that I'm in no way trying to be offensive or rude. I'm simply at a loss, as I don't see how the quality lacks in comparison, when almost every element was requested by you.

Well, first, I believe this is what I showed you as a "inspiration" piece was this:

The idea behind what you designed isn't bad, it's just the detail of the logo. The floodlights on the left and right, in all reality look like footballs, or headless pigs.... perhaps its the colors (which yes, I chose, because those were the colors of a particular skin), and that there isn't much detail to them. The yellowish tint of the lights looks bad with the color selection, and the filmstrip, it's balance with the text IMO is it's too light. These are just my personal opinions of the logo concept, and as a non designer, I have to leave alot of the "designing" up to you, or whomever I would hire.

BrokenFaith, we are still getting the emails coming in. There are legit emails mixed with spam coming in, and the total is 18,000 total emails.

I'm sorry, but how can actually be critical of what he has produced when you've PAID $10 for it. It's as though your expecting an really good logo to be designed, you've got to be realistic here.
Vizon, i don't know what your brief was for him therefore I won't comment. Mark though, i'd say that's not bad at all for $10, it's actually not a bad concept, could just do with some touching up.
I'd be interested to see the rest of the work he's done for people in this thread.
