I know there is free ones, but from what I've heard, they are either too difficult to settup, or they are just really bad.

I keep track of clients using a bulletin board (erasable) with designated columns and rows for certain properties and listing of each project.

I have been using a program called microsoft project 2003 at university. I am considering using this application for future projects as it seems to provide a range of functions for managing your resources and deadlines.

Our online presence won't come for awhile but we will use a custom built CMS that uses a database and flexible 'front-end' integration system to allow us to do what we do best on our own site. Billing we will use a credit card processor something like WorldPay, PayPal and 2Checkout just don't cut it.

Project management will be with the CMS. We have developers all over the place and this makes it easier if they can get online and see what needs to be done next and by when. Client management will be the same, custom built boards, support systems, new project etc.

I don't want to go into much detail because simply, it's ours

I would imagine that type of system would cost a ton to implement...why not use a product like microsoft project 2003? It is very powerful and can manage all aspects of a project, resources, critical paths, deadlines, milestones etc.
