Hi guys....

i just bought designersbay.com

the site is NOT UP YET

it's a place for graphix designers to show off their skills and designs..

i'm gonna use coppermine gallery for this site...

so people can upload any file that coppermine permits...

flash...jpg..png..gif..whatever...

plus maybe i'll create a forum too..later..

so i need your advise/opinion
anything else that i can do to spruce up the site?
or anything else i should know about?
is the domain name suitable?

Thanx

It would be perfect to see what you've got so far. Then, I think you'll get many more suggestions. Coppermine out of the box is pretty bland (since anybody else could do it). But with some mods, I'm sure you can make it a pretty cool place to post!

I was thinking of using that for one of my past sites. It's on Fantastico, haha.

Yea.. but I see that as cheating. When you install scripts, you can learn how they work and if there was ever a problem, you would be able to figure it out easier. With Fantastico... if you ever want to install something, it may not let you.. and it's also a hassle with uninstalling because it leaves the files that you create in there...

Fantastico... cPanel.. Modernbill.. If only you knew what kind of pain that brings to the hearts of server admins everywhere. Nice once you get it setup, but maintenance and trouble-shooting is a nightmare.

Patrick
