I quite like that, a few things though;
- I think the date thing looks a bit strange, i'd seperate the header from the date / post title box.
- I'd make the older posts that are just listed a bit more visible, like maybe add a smaller calendar date thing next to each of the titles.
- I think currently the side navigation boxes on the side look like they were originally white or at least a brighter colour and you've just lowered the opacity down on them. I'd personally make them a lot more visible, possibly even white.
Nothing else to say really, your current style you seem to be designing with is a big improvement on how you used to design.

It's nice and clean, but I can't see myself growing attached to this.
The side bar needs a lot more contrast in my opinion. It's a bit hard to see, and I don't like the pattern you have at the top of each section/category - just looks out of place since the rest of the layout has a clean feel.
The structure of the blog itself isn't that bad - but there isn't a distinct enough transition from each section.
However, the style and the execution is very well done. Crisp and clean, but lacks a solid focal point and appeal.

That's odd - I don't see any similarities. Why do you say this?

Its very nice, but there are a few things you could work on.
- Its professional, but its very plain. I like the simple setup, but I dont like the lack of "face" if you will. What I'm trying to hint at is its fairly flat; not much texture or roundedness'.
- The right / side content could also be a little brighter and stick out a little more, seems a little dull.

I think he means your older one, not the current.
