It would be cool to see Google Checkout takeover.

Does anybody know of a good alternative to PayPal now that they have these new fees? (Possibly one that I can use in Canada?)

This is exactly why I have begun to refuse Paypal as a payment method for my services. Google checkout is way better. All the money you get goes straight into your bank account that way it doesn't have a fake balance of your funds online and you can't get ****ed over in the so many multiple ways you can through Paypal. The fees are WAY less as well. Google checkout is the new Paypal all we have to do is switch over. Get a credit card you can use it everywhere you can use Paypal so you won't have a problem. You can also go to your bank and request a debit card for your bank account which can be used as a credit card, problem solved.

Google Checkout 4 Lyfe!
