PHP for chat

I need a good PHP chat script however I do not want the chat to be difficult to use or an eye sore in any way. What are the most simple and user friendly chat scripts?

Why not an irc channel? Personally I can't stand those "channels" where you can't use your own client. Here's a webclient for irc.
