Getting hosting from a domain registrar is a bad idea IMO...
GoDaddy's hosting is horrible from what I hear. Namecheap could be different, who knows. Why don't you tell us after a couple of months on how their support/speed/uptime is.

Personally I'd buy hosting from a company that provides hosting as their main service and domains from a company that provides domains as their main service.
Hosting with a registrar is dangerous water if you ask me. Something like http://hostgator.com or http://asmallorange.com would be better.

Still, namecheap.com domain registration + hosting may be a highly convenient package for someone who doesn't like to have much hassle with registering a domain and then hosting it somewhere else.

Furthermore, NameCheap.com provides Web Hosting Plan Comparison that helps you much to compare the package plans and choose what you need.

Hi All,

Firstly, my name is Nick Nelson, and I'm the director of Hosting Operations at Namecheap.

I'd like to squash some of the common fears of NC, as well as the OP's issues.

Namecheap built their hosting operations from the ground up as a seperate operation. While yes, we have the same executive management staff, and you can order hosting and domains from the same simplistic Namecheap.com site, other than that, we've separated operations as much as possible.

We trained completely new staff, and basically built the division from the ground up to ensure that we not that typical registrar who adds hosting as a side dish.

If anyone has any feedback, I'd love to hear it

The only reason why GoDaddy has fast support is because they have over 100,000 people working at their call centers. (My mom has met with some of the executives of GoDaddy about their call centers).

We may not be 100,000 people strong yet, and I hope we don't reach that point as we aim for efficient support, and this number is quite high, but I can assure very fast support at all times, and our support will be very personal. Not like a call center.
